Raquel is the Head of our Residential Property Team and based in our Stafford office. Raquel qualified as a Solicitor in 2001.

Clients: Raquel has acted for a variety of clients including individuals, companies, property developers, attorneys and executors.

Raquel's Approach: Raquel prides herself on providing excellent client care and customer service. She strives to communicate with clients in a timely and coherent manner, agreeing which steps the parties will follow and where possible, timescales from the the outset.

Raquel’s breadth of experience enables her to identify potential pitfalls in the transaction and address them when the transaction commences. She is a technical lawyer but very practical in her approach.  

Accreditations: Raquel is CQS accredited and regularly attends training courses to ensure her knowledge remains current.

Raquel originates from the Midlands. She was very fortunate to travel extensively as a teenager with her parents and visit many countries around the world.

Raquel lives with her two children Freddy and Saffron, a bengal cat called ‘Juno’ and a miniature dachshund dog called ‘Basil.’ She is a devotee of ‘Amma,’ an Indian spiritual guru based in Kerala, India.

On completion of her post graduate degree in law, Raquel worked for Gulf Air and Emirates Airlines as a flight attendant, where she resided in Bahrain and Dubai respectively.

Raquel trained in a provincial high street practice but qualified into a role in employment law practising litigation and non-contentious employment law.

She has worked as a consultant solicitor for a number of years to accommodate her child caring responsibilities. She has undertaken a wide variety of work and worked in a number of capacities as a solicitor.

Raquel has spent several periods of time living in Egypt where she guided scuba divers on reef tours in the Red Sea and Dahab and taught PADI scuba diving. Raquel has dived in many locations across the world including the UK and has undertaken further dive training to depths of 100 metres with TDI.

During the pandemic, Raquel studied a post graduate degree In psychology at Coventry University.

She hosts regular ‘satsangs’ (gatherings with a spiritual context) for other Amma devotees at her home every month where she cooks vegetarian food for the attendees. She enjoys spending time with her family, meditation and yoga.

Raquel actively supports Amma’s charity ‘embracing the world.’ and places great emphasis on altruistic and philanthropic pursuits.

Nowell Meller Journey: Raquel joined Nowell Meller in April 2026 as the Head of Residential Property. She hopes to enhance the already excellent customer experience provided at Nowell Meller and to build and grow the residential property law department. She hopes to create an upbeat atmosphere for both her clients and colleagues and to present as an approachable friendly face to the team.
