Matt is a Solicitor within the Commercial Property team. Matt qualified as an SRA regulated Solicitor in October 2025.
Matt works across both the Stafford and Newcastle offices and alongside director Debby Hackney, supporting clients on Commercial Property matters.
Matt's Approach: Matt is approachable, proactive and passionate about his role. Matt has a keen eye for detail and considers client’s wider needs and provides advice in the appropriate manner to best suit their client’s needs.
Accreditations: Matt attended the University of Derby from 2012 to 2015, graduating with a Law degree. Matt went on to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University, completing the qualification in 2018.
Matt was born in Stafford and has lived and worked there for the majority, aside from his spell at university in derby and again whilst working for a firm in Manchester when they moved to Congleton briefly and then to Timperley.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys listening to music and attending live concerts, as well as staying active in the gym, walking, playing tennis and has recently picked up two new sports in pickleball and padel.
Matt left school after completing his GCSEs, and went on to study Business with Law & Accounting at Stafford College. This sparked an interest in law which continued throughout University and upon graduation Matt made the decision to continue along the route towards qualification and legal practice.
Matt studied and successfully completed the legal practice course whilst working full time in various roles at Stafford and Royal Stoke hospitals.
In march 2019, Matt secured is first legal position within a claimant personal injury firm in Manchester, in which, Matt gained a number of skills including drafting, negotiation, time-management and perhaps most importantly the ability to communicate clearly with clients and advise in the appropriate manner.
After completing a two year training contract with Staffordshire County Council, Matt qualified in 2025 and subsequently moved to work with Clyde & Co LLP in their Defendant Fraud team.
Ultimately, the area of law (Defendant fraud/personal injury) was not Matt’s long-term and ambition and Matt made the decision to seek roles in commercial property and successfully secured his current role at Nowell Meller in August 2026.
