Lorna is a Receptionist at our Newcastle office.
Lorna's Approach: Lorna has a very down to earth and friendly approach and is never short of a smile or a kind word.
Lorna has a very warm and welcoming personality and will always do whatever she can to help Nowell Meller clients or point them in the right direction.
Personal Background: Lorna was born and raised in Stoke on Trent and joined Nowell Meller in November 2014.
In her spare time Lorna enjoys walking, eating out, going to the cinema and spending time with friends and family.
Career: After leaving school, Lorna obtained work experience at a firm of Solicitors in Hanley and then enrolled on a secretarial course at a local college. After successfully completing the course, she moved onto a receptionist position for a local engineering company where she worked for 11 years in between having her two children. After her second son was born, Lorna took a career break to care for her young family and also undertook some voluntary work at the local playgroup. This ultimately led to her getting a job as a Playgroup Assistant for 4 years where she gained an NVQ2 in Childcare. Following this she spent time as a Dinnertime Supervisor at a local School but was overjoyed to eventually return to a secretarial role.
Nowell Meller Journey: In October 2014 Lorna was asked if she wanted to provide temporary holiday cover for the Burslem office and she “jumped at the chance”. Lorna says “I enjoyed being back in an office environment and everybody was so lovely, that I asked to stay and do some voluntary work. This ultimately led to a permanent position at the Burslem Office. Since then, Lorna has become an integral part of the team and is part of our Welcome Team as a receptionist at our Newcastle office.
