Nowell Meller Support Vulnerable People In Burslem

“We had a really successful Christmas day albeit doing things very differently! We took out 420 meals and gifts to people across Stoke-on-Trent. Some of those in receipt were extremely vulnerable either because of financial constraints, isolation and loneliness or health issues.

We have received some incredible words of thanks from some of those we met on Christmas Day. It’s been quite humbling to see really.

One gentleman is terminally ill, has no family locally and not only was he going to see no one on Christmas Day but was going to have no Christmas meal either. We found out about him through someone from Essex who just happened to get in touch with the church and see if we could do something, they didn’t even know we were already doing meals. So we were able to respond to him and he was overwhelmed. In fact, the people who had mentioned him to us in the first place said they spoke to him and they’ve not heard him so upbeat for such a long time. “ Rev K Stephens

It is wonderful to hear such positive feedback from Swan Bank following our £200 donation in December to support their incredible work. In such a tough year, we are glad to have been able to help make a difference to the local community.
