Heather Thompson

Paralegal - Residential Property

Heather is a paralegal in our Residential Property Team and works from offices in Stafford and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Heather has many years’ experience as a property paralegal and her focus is now in the following areas of residential property:

  • freehold and leasehold property sales
  • leasehold retirement property purchases
  • new-build retirement property purchases
  • assents and any transaction relating to a deceased estate

Heather’s Approach: Heather describes herself as friendly, positive and pro-active. She finds solutions for problems and welcomes questions from her clients. Heather believes that clear communication is a priority, and uses plain English to explain legal issues. She aims to get to know her clients so that they feel at ease throughout the conveyancing process.

Personal Background: Originally from Essex, Heather commuted into Central London from Bedfordshire for 16 years, before moving to Staffordshire to live closer to her family.

She is developing her new-found pottery hobby and supports the Samaritans and Food Bank charities. Heather enjoys learning about Stoke’s history and exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside with her husband and their rescue Lurcher.

Career: Heather has 40 years’ experience working for solicitors, dealing with residential and commercial conveyancing matters and developing skills in liaising with clients, lenders and agents. Heather has gained considerable experience in a variety of property roles, including 16 years in a coordinating role for a London firm dealing with complex commercial transactions.

Nowell Meller Journey: Heather joined Nowell Meller in September 2019 to assist the Commercial Property Department. Her varied abilities soon found her applying her skill set across several teams in the firm. Heather is now a Paralegal in our Residential Property team.
