Location: Stafford or Newcastle (depending on the candidate)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time (36.25 hour week)

We are entering an exciting new phase of growth across the firm and are looking to expand our Commercial Property Team by recruiting someone dynamic to work with the a Director and alongside a Trainee Solicitor and Assistant.

This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a cohesive team, with scope to develop skills, take on responsibility, and progress within the firm.

Following Skills required:

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor (PQE 5+).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills. 
  • Experience in dealing with a full range of Commercial Property matters including refinance, sales, purchases and complex leasehold arrangements.
  • A client-focused and professional approach.  
  • Networking and Marketing abilities with a drive to grow the work base for the department.    
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.   
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance cover.   
  • A proactive and adaptable approach.

Desirable: 

  • Previous experience in a similar role.   
  • Desire to develop and progress within a growing firm.     
  • Prior professional links to the local area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervision/training responsibilities in relation to Paralegal(s)/ Trainee Solicitor(s) working within the department.
  • Managing a caseload effectively and efficiently. 
  • Providing excellent client care.

  • Experience in dealing with a full range of Residential Property matters including refinance, sales, purchases, transfers of equity, leasehold titles.
  • Ability to deal with new build property related transactions.
  • Knowledgeable in relation to unregistered property.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.  
  • A client-focused and professional approach.  
  • Full understanding of CQS requirements.

  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection compliance at all times.

ASSISTANT IN THE PRIVATE CLIENT DEPARTMENT

We are looking to expand our Private Client Team by recruiting someone dynamic to provide support for the Team.

This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, get involved, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working directly with our Wills Team. You will help with a variety of day-to-day tasks, including liaising with clients and third parties and assisting with day-to-day case management. The case load consists mostly of Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorneys.

We are looking for someone who is

  • Competent with computers and proficient in Excel;
  • Confident and has a polite telephone manner;
  • Comfortable in a team based environment;
  • Organised with a keen eye for detail; and
  • Keen to learn and develop in the role.
