Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. We’ve embraced this with a series of wellbeing-focused activities aimed at supporting our team’s mental and physical health.

We began the week with an online webinar led by Registered Nutritional Therapist Alix Tomkinson, focusing on feeding the mind and exploring the often-overlooked link between nutrition and mental health. Our team learned about the gut-brain connection, and how certain foods and key nutrients can support mood stability, reduce stress, and improve overall mental clarity—valuable insights in a profession that can be both mentally and emotionally demanding. Everyone took away practical tips on small changes we can make to have a big impact!

On Wednesday, we took the opportunity to step away from our desks for a lunchtime walk in the sun, topped off with an ice cream treat. It was a simple but powerful reminder of how fresh air, a dose of vitamin D, and a few laughs with colleagues can make a real difference to our state of mind.

These initiatives are part of our ongoing commitment to building a supportive and healthy work environment. Fostering positive mental health isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential. Promoting work-life balance, encouraging open conversations about mental health, and creating opportunities to step away from the daily grind are just some of the ways we support our team.

We know that mental wellbeing isn’t something to focus on for just one week—it’s something we aim to embed in our culture all year round. Mental Health Awareness Week simply gives us the opportunity to highlight this commitment and explore new ways to look after ourselves and each other.
