Director
Debby was born and lives in Staffordshire.
She has always worked within the law and accumulated 17 years
experience primarily in property law before qualifying as a solicitor
whilst in-house at a large general practice in the area. Prior to
qualification in 2000 Debby changed emphasis to concentrate on
commercial property transactions. Post qualification Debby took the
opportunity to join HBJ Gately Wareing, a prominent city firm in
Birmingham known for its expertise in corporate, commercial and
insolvency matters. At Gatelys Debbie was exposed to all areas of
commercial practice including landlord and tenant, residential
land development,commercial acquisitions and support work on
corporate and insolvency deals.
Debby took the decision to take time out to raise a family but
returned to pracice in 2006 when she joined Nowell Meller to take
on the challenge of further developing its commercial profile. Debby became a
Director of Nowell Meller on 01 June 2011 and heads our Commercial
Property team dealing with the full range of commercial property transactions
including landlord and tenant matters and acting for the sellers and
buyers of unincorporated businesses where she advises on
employment issues and VAT. Debby also acts for local developers
in the acquisition of land, the setting up of residential estates and
plot sales. Debby also takes on the important role of Director of Business
Development for the practice.

In her spare time Debby is involved in local charity work with particular
emphasis on helping childen and disadvantaged young people. She
enjoys sport (an avid football fan) walking and other outdoor activities
including a recent move towards "The Good Life" in cultivating a local
allotment. Debby also enjoys cinema, music, dancing and travel.
