A Local Service
Nowell Meller Solicitors Limited (Reg. in England and Wales No. 5536577) was incorporated in November 2005 to take over the established business of Nowell Meller, a law firm partnership serving Stafford and Staffordshire since 1956. We merged with the established law firm of Arthur Boulton & Son, serving Burslem and Stoke on Trent since 1975, on 01 November 2007 and in doing so effectively doubled in size. Since that date we have traded as Nowell Meller Solicitors in Stafford and Arthur Boulton Solicitors in Burslem.
We aim to provide a caring service that meets the real needs of our clients in our chosen areas of work and believe that this customer focus is a major strength differentiating us from a number of our competitors and influencing the manner in which we conduct our work.
A Quality Service
Since 2002 we have been recognised as an Investor in People acknowledging the importance that we place on the development and training of our staff. We are a Law Society authorised training provider. We wish to be regarded as an employer of choice within our local community.
Since 2005 we have held the Law Society's Lexcel Quality Mark which recognises the excellent service that we provide to our clients. Our Family Law Service is recommended by The Legal 500 directory. We wish to be regarded as setting the standard within the local legal community.
We hold the Specialist Quality Mark awarded by the Legal Services Commission recognising our role as a quality provider of Legal Aid services within the Community Legal Service.

Very few other law firms hold all of these awards. We believe that this reflects our commitment towards continuing improvement in all aspects of our work. Our quality systems and levels of service are regularly audited by a number of independent external bodies to ensure that we continue to meet the high standards that they require and that you deserve.
We have been operating a client questionnaire since 1997 and have made a number of changes to our systems and procedures as a result of feed-back from our clients. We are keen to hear any other suggestions for ways in which we might improve our service.
A Specialist Service
If you instruct us, your case will be handled by one or more members of a qualified team of specialist lawyers and support staff under the supervision of a designated senior lawyer in accordance with our documented quality and client management procedures.
We now have 60 staff operating from three sites in Staffordshire. Many of our staff are members of specialist panels established by the Law Society and other professional bodies with considerable experience in their chosen work areas.
