Matt Harcourt- Poole


Matt is a member of our Private Family Law team in Stafford, working with Director and Head of Family Law, Carly Colclough.

His area of specialism is Divorce/marital breakdown; however Matt can also advise our client’s on a wide range of family law matters:

  • Divorce and Civil Partnership Dissolution
  • Financial Matters
  • Spousal and Child Maintenance
  • Private Law Children Matters
  • Co-habitation Agreements
  • Separation Agreements
  • Domestic Abuse/Violence
  • Change of Name

Clients: Matthew acts for a diverse range of clients with differing needs and takes on matters of varying complexity.

Matt also provides our clients with representation/advocacy within Court proceedings where he takes a robust and a well-prepared approach.

Matt's Approach: He describes himself as "friendly and approachable with a pragmatic approach to client’s and matters”.

Accreditations: LLB (Hons) Law – 1st Class Honours.

Personal Background: Matt grew up in Newport and is from a small family being the youngest of 3 brothers and currently lives in the Telford area.

Outside of work, he is a keen (but incredibly amateur) golfer. He enjoys spending time with family, friends and his partner, more often than not he can be found somewhere in the countryside walking his dog. Matt is a foodie and loves finding new restaurants and places to eat. He is also a keen traveller and once spent 3 weeks travelling around the deep south of the USA, covering 2500 miles.

Career: Matt has over 10 years experience in retail and prior to him currently retraining, he worked as a Senior Manager in various branches and locations around the UK.

He moved back to Telford and enrolled to study Law at Wolverhampton University in 2016. Matt Graduated in 2019 with 1st Class Honours, continuing to LPC and Masters at Wolverhampton and he will complete these studies in 2021.

Before joining Nowell Meller Matt worked at a large midlands based regional law firm, where he worked within a Family Law team ranked Tier 1 in the latest Legal 500 rankings.

Nowell Meller Journey: Matt joined the firm in March 2020 as a Senior Caseworker and feels that “the culture of the firm is fantastic”. In 2021, Matt became a Trainee Solicitor within the Family Team.
