Cyber Essentials is a UK government backed scheme that is ran by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and has been designed to help businesses, such as ours, achieve a basic cyber protection against the most common cyber threats, this is done by ensuring we have five core controls in place within our business, these are: Firewalls, Secure Configuration, Access Control, Malware Protection and Patch Management.
Achieving Cyber Essentials ensures that we are monitoring our systems and running supported software. Not only this, but it is known that implementing the above five controls can protect us against 80% of cyber-related attacks. It helps us to ensure our client base as it ensures that we have actively put controls in place to protect their information.
