Nowell Meller Solicitors have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Business Development Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will have a creative approach, work well within a team, be able to think outside of the box and will embrace team culture. This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to start their career in Business Development and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.  

Based within the Business Development department, the candidate will work within all areas from marketing to supporting departments to grow, as well as being involved with the creation of new and exciting initiatives.

This role supports the Business Development Manager and will initially include, but not limited to;

General administration

The role will support day-to-day activities across all Business Development work. This will include tasks such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, sending follow up correspondence, answering the phones etc.

Social media support

The role will offer support with the Firm’s social media platforms from scheduling content, monitoring statistics, and creating content from video to graphics.

Website/Digital

Offer support with the maintenance of the firm’s website. This will include uploading new information, articles to staff updates as well as supporting the implementation of new features.

Content design

Offer support with the creation of marketing materials and client information. Such as client guides, partnership documents, internal communications etc.

Connect Groups / Staff Newsletter  

Support Nowell Meller’s internal ‘Connect Groups’ with meetings and actions as well as helping to create the quarterly staff Newsletter.

 Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms
  • Good time management and organisation
  • Creativity
  • Teamwork
  • Full driving licence

The successful candidate will work directly alongside the Business Development Manager who will mentor and offer full support.

The Business Development Manager will work closely with the candidate to highlight any interests which the candidate wishes to explore further, skill sets that can be utilised as well as highlighting areas for further training that will give the candidate a full range of transferable skills. 

Full training will be offered in-house including but not limited to, social media, basic design skills, communication and networking skills amongst other training that is highlighted as necessary.

Weekly catch-up meetings will be scheduled to monitor the candidate's progress and to offer full support.
