The Family Law Service
an overview

Our Family Law Service has established a significant reputation throughout the region for its specialisation in legal problems related to the family, and its sympathetic and practical approach to seeking the most sensible and realistic solutions.

The Specialist Family Law Service at Nowell Meller is now the largest team of dedicated family lawyers in Staffordshire and is earning a regional reputation for its expertise in handling the legal problems that arise when relationships breakdown and families split up.

Five members of this specialist team are solicitors with more than 80 years combined experience of family work between them. Towards the end of 2005, the team was joined by Senior Solicitor Julie Roberts, formerly Head of Family Law at Hutsby Mees Solicitors.

Each of the solicitors is an accredited specialist in his or her chosen fields of work spending every day working in family law and regularly appearing in our local courts. The solicitors are backed by a team of closely-supervised paralegal and support staff using the latest in case management and information technology. It is the sum total of this experience that you gain access to when you seek help from them.

Neil Robinson, who heads the team, is an experienced children lawyer and mediator. Neil is Director of The Mediation Centre, run by Nowell Meller, which is recognised as being one of the most successful mediation services in England. The workload of the Centre has risen by over 50% in the last 12 months as the importance of mediation as a real alternative to the traditional court battle becomes recognised.

Being fully committed to the Resolutiuon Code of Practice that supports a sympathetic and practical approach, the Family Law Service is usually able to help its clients to seek a sensible and realistic solution to their problems without costing the earth.

In 2005 the company was awarded the Law Society’s “Lexcel” Quality Mark for its service excellence and is also a holder of the Legal Service Commisison’s Specialist Quality Mark for Family Law. More significantly, the team is proud of the fact that the vast majority of its clients instruct them because of a strong personal recommendation from a trusted friend or colleague or referral from a GP or other source. The first interview is free and without obligation. Why not give us a try?
